The year is 2018, and Bring Me The Horizon's new record, entitled 'Amo' was set to release in January 2019. Before, they were on the road, finishing their British & European tours. It also happened to be lead singer Oli Sykes' birthday. They played a medley of older material to celebrate it, which was a pleasant, hard-hitting surprise.
The concert overall was pretty cool! BMTH was receiving quite a bit of backlash for the more experimental direction the band was going with their music. Also, lead singer Oli Sykes' vocals were questioned a lot, but the concert was amazing! The band were really great performers, Oli really fulfilled his role as frontman, and the band was accompanying him perfectly. It was also fun to see such a variety of people at the concert, older metal heads, goth people, fathers with their sons (just like us), couples and many more!
Let me also share with you the story of the photo you're seeing. On our way to the car, my dad and I waited at the backdoor of the venue to check if there happened to be any bandmates. After waiting for a good hour in the cold, bassist Matt Kean came out to meet the fans. He was clearly tired from the show, but he spoke with me a little and allowed me to take a photo together. Honestly, such a cool experience!
