If you love metal music, Slipknot is a band you must see in your life at least once. They sold out the Ziggo Dome in 2020 in no time, getting a ticket was tough, but luckily I managed! The opener of the night was the Polish-blackened death metal band Behemoth. They played a handful of very cool songs to start the night off, and the deep growling vocals of lead singer Adam Darski were a little taste of what was to come.
After a little wait, Slipknot opened their show with the song Unsainted from the We Are Not Your Kind album. The crowd was singing every single word, and the mosh pits started. All the classic songs were performed, they kept the energy up during the entire set, and the crowd was getting more and more hyped. At the end of the show, there must have been a circle pit of about 35 metersāinsane!
All the members dressed up in their stage outfits and masks, and the stage itself was made so all the members could change levels and places as well. I have to say, Corey Taylor's mask had to be the coolest one. His vocals were also on point, and his performances during Nero Forte and Solway Firth were outstanding. The singer also made it very clear he wasn't a fan of the fan throwing a "perfectly fine beer" on the stage during one of their songs.
To say that I was left with a sore throat from all the singing is an understatement, I was completely drained. The almost 30-year-old band from Iowa did not disappoint!
